Got Room for Another Houseplant?

Ivy? Yes. Boston or English? Yes. Both of these creeping climbers are competing here – not just for more territory along the side of these homes, but for the honor of the most handsome ‘wallpaper’ in town. Boston Ivy wins for the most colorful display, English Ivy comes in first for massive leaf size. There’s room for both. So they agree to collaborate.

Welcoming in the new Autumn season on All Saint’s Day in Hungary, the thick colorful curtain of ivies provides a take-your-breath-away distraction from the fact that this street just goes up and up and up... relentlessly climbing from the Danube valley for what seems like miles before arriving at the platform at the top where you can catch the little green train back to Budapest.

 

Going home from Szentendre takes some willpower, some leg power and some colorful ‘wallpower’ to decorate and lighten the way.
